The Dot Voting question allows you to ask your participants to assign points or an amount of money to a few items that you present to them. This type of question is useful:
- In a participatory budgeting process
- To replicate the in-person process in which participants have stickers that they assign to items to identify their priorities
This type of question, which asks participants to assign points or amounts of money to options, goes beyond the usual question of making a selection from among options or choices.
You have two options for creating your scoring vote question: fixed or variable.
Doting Voting - Fixed
In fixed-point voting, participants make a number of choices up to the maximum amount. The value of the choices offered is set by the administrator who creates the question. Below is an example with points and another with monetary amounts.
Dot Voting - Variable
In variable scoring voting, participants can choose how many points to assign to each choice. The maximum number of points or money is set by the administrator, as are the increments. Below is an example with points and another with monetary amounts.
