Choose to opt out of mandatory demographic data collection

Since July 2025, it has been possible to produce a Cocoriko platform without the mandatory collection of demographic data.

Cocoriko platforms request three mandatory demographic details by default when a person participates for the first time: year of birth, postal code, and gender. The pop-up window appears only once in a person's lifetime on Cocoriko, even if the person participates on several different platforms. Here is the pop-up window:

It is possible to NOT request demographic data. This choice is made when a platform is launched and is normally maintained for the duration of the platform in question. This is important for consistency in data collection. A customer before July 2025 may choose to withdraw demographic data collection at any time.

There are several impacts of not requesting demographic data:

  • All comments will be published without the names of the people who wrote them.
  • In the Dashboard, the map showing the geographical representation of participants will be empty.
  • In the results section:
    • The Excel report will only show the total number of votes. This will not be broken down by gender and age group.
    • The graphs for each question will not include graphs showing the breakdown by gender and age group.
  • If you have a service that includes the production of a PDF report, the tables showing the breakdown by gender and age group will not be included.

It is important to note that adding demographic questions at the beginning of the survey does NOT replace mandatory demographic questions, as this data will not be represented in the other questions.

In addition, the questions are all optional, and you will not have a complete picture of the respondents. It is possible to collect only the three mandatory demographic data points (gender, age, zip code) by keeping the collection of demographic data mandatory.
