Conduct satisfaction surveys to evaluate cultural and leisure activities

Located in the Chaudière-Appalaches region of southern Quebec, the City of Thetford Mines has a population of 26,891. Throughout the year, it offers a rich program of municipal cultural and leisure activities, combining various sports with a host of literary, artistic and outdoor activities. Residents can take advantage of quality infrastructures including two arenas and outdoor skating rinks, a modern sports complex, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, four public libraries, a 30-km bike path and much more. Thetford also offers a wide variety of cultural events, including shows, festivals and art exhibitions.

Consultations

The City of Thetford Mines' Service des loisirs et de la culture felt it essential to measure the satisfaction of those taking part in the activities offered. The new Cocoriko platform acquired by the city offered a great opportunity to gain a better understanding of citizens' needs and expectations, through an easy-to-use and efficient tool for compiling results.

After launching a mini-survey in connection with the aquatics program, the City used this method to survey other activities such as dance classes and library services.

Target Marketing

As satisfaction surveys are aimed directly at users of leisure and cultural services, it is not appropriate to launch a general appeal on social networks. 

As a result, the survey is promoted primarily via QR codes affixed to posters displayed at the pool, library or other locations. When an e-mail distribution list is available, as for the lifeguard survey, this is also used. 

Success

Satisfaction surveys are very useful for the Leisure and Culture Department, as they help to identify strengths and areas for improvement in the various programs. The number of participants for each survey is sufficient, and contributions are greatly appreciated by the recreation team.

In no time at all, it's possible to make information available and offer a high-quality, visually interesting product. The platform is very useful for our Leisure and Culture Department. It enables us to get to know our customers better and tailor our service offering to their expectations. In this way, we can pursue our mission to serve the public and constantly improve our services.
